A Case of Pulmonary Sarcoidosis Diagnosed by Cervical Mediastinoscopic Biopsy
Park Sung-Dong

Abstract
Sarcoidosis is characterized by noncaseating epithelioid granulomas that may affect any organ system. The etiology of the disease is still unknown. The disease most commonly involves the lungs. Other commonly involved organs include the lymph nodes, especially of the intrathoracic, skin, eyes, liver, heart and nervous, musculoskeletal, renal and endocrine systems. A 55-year-o1d woman present to the department of thoracic surgery with bilateral hilar lymphadenopathies discovered on routine chest radiographs. TBLB or VATS was not possible because of her combined morbidity, Sarcoidosis was confirmed by cervical mediastinoscopic biopsy. Biopsy sample of lymph node demonstrates the presence of non caseating granulomas.
